Gabbard, 39, has been an assistant state attorney with the State Attorney’s Office for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit since 1997 and served as chief of the county court division for two years. Gabbard received bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida.
“As a prosecutor for 14 years, Jennifer has gained valuable experience with the county court system,” Governor Scott said. “During that time, she has handled a wide variety of cases and gained a reputation as a tough, fair and able prosecutor. I am confident she will continue to further the rule of law from the bench.”
Gabbard will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Nick Nazaretian to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court.
