Today, Governor Rick Scott presented the “Great Floridian” award to Mary Cade on behalf of the late Dr. Robert Cade, famous Florida Gator and inventor of Gatorade at The Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention. The “Great Floridian” designation is given in recognition of the outstanding achievements of men and women who have made significant contributions to the progress and welfare of Florida.
Governor Scott said, “It is an honor to present the ‘Great Floridian’ award to the late Dr. Robert Cade. As a physician, scientist, musician, and inventor, Dr. Cade changed the world of athletics and academics. Cade’s work serves as an incredible reminder to never give up, and work toward your dreams. I am honored to recognize his accomplishments.”
