Hillsborough County School Board member Stacy White announced the endorsement of Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee for his run for county District 4 seat.
White is running for the east Hillsborough seat currently held by Commissioner Al Higginbotham who cannot seek re-election due to term limits. Also vying for the seat are Tampa Police Benevolent Association Union senior vice president Rich Cochran and businessperson Donna Lee Fore.
“I have known Stacy White to be a man of the highest character and integrity,” said Gee in a statement announcing his support. “Stacy has represented our community well as a member of the School Board. I am proud to offer Stacy White my endorsement and support in his campaign for Hillsborough County Commission District 4.”
White, a lifelong resident of Tampa and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Florida, most recently represents District 4 on the School Board.
Gee has worked in the Sheriff’s Office for more than thirty-three years; he was elected Sheriff in 2004.
“Sheriff Gee works tirelessly to protect and serve the residents of Hillsborough County,” Stacy said. “As your County Commissioner, I pledge to work closely with Sheriff Gee to provide the resources, tools and support law enforcement and other first responders need to keep our community safe and secure. I am grateful for Sheriff Gee’s support and his endorsement.”
