Senate President Don Gaetz and his designated successor, Sen. Andy Gardiner, took a few friends out to the ballgame last night and brought home more than just peanuts and Cracker Jack.
At a fundraiser at Yankees Stadium, where lawmakers and lobbyists watched the Bronx Bombers collect 19 hits en route to a 14-to-7 win over the Anaheim Angels, Gaetz and Gardiner were joined by other power players from the upper chamber, including Sens. Lizbeth Benacquisto, Rob Bradley, Charlie Dean, Jack Latvala, and John Thrasher.
Taking in the fundraiser and the game were several of Tallahassee’s MVPs, who obviously did not mind leaving behind the capital city’s August heat for a trip to the Big Apple. Among those in the box were Chris Dudley of Southern Strategy Group, Nick Iarossi and Chris Schoonover from Capital City Consulting, Gus Corbella of Greenberg Traurig, Scott Ross of Floridian Partners, Greg Turbeville of Ballard Partners and Christina and David Johnson.
