With less than a week before the Iowa caucuses, Marco Rubio is taking to the airwaves to explain why he thinks Washington, D.C., is broken.

The 30-second spot, called “Listening,” features several shots of people listening to a Rubio advertisement while going about their day-to-day business. In the background, Rubio is heard saying it’s “time for a president who will stand up to runaway government and fight Washington special interests in both parties.”

“I tell people all the time: America doesn’t owe me anything, but I have a debt to America I can never repay,” the Florida senator is heard saying.

The advertisement is set in Iowa starting Tuesday. The Iowa caucuses — the first nominating contest of the 2016 presidential cycle — are next Monday. Rubio is in third place in the Hawkeye State, trailing Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. On Tuesday, a Quinnipiac University poll showed he was at 13 percent.
