Incoming House Speaker Will Weatherford has endorsed Kathryn Starkey in her bid for the Pasco County Commission, District 3.

“I am honored to lend my support and endorsement for Kathryn Starkey,” said Speaker-designate Will Weatherford. “As a former Pasco County School Board Member she was our conservative voice and as a County Commissioner I know she will continue fight to keep taxes low and bring jobs to Pasco County. I look forward to working with Kathryn because I believe she has the vision we need for our community.”

“I am grateful for the support of Representative Weatherford,” said Starkey. “ I want to ensure that Pasco is well represented and that our community will have real solutions that will move us forward. Securing the support of key leaders such as Rep. Weatherford and Commissioner Ann Hildebrand is a way that I can affect change for Pasco.”

Starkey was a member of the Pasco County School Board, she was elected in 2004, re-elected in 2008, and served as Chairwoman in her third year. She has been appointed to various positions five times by three Republican Governors, Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Charlie Crist, and Governor Rick Scott.
