According to exclusive poll results obtained by this blog, Republican Jack Latvala holds a 23 point lead over Democrat Nina Hayden. Latvala leads Hayden 51% – 28% according to this poll taken on March 17 & 18 and has a margin of error of 4.9%. Keep in mind, this is not my poll, so I cannot verify the polls’ results, but my source for this information is from the same source that provided the spot-on polling data during the St. Petersbug Mayoral Race. Latvala maintains a solid Favorable/Unfavorable ratio, while Hayden is largely unknown to most voters.

Update: Latvala just announced that his campaign has already wrapped-up his effort to collect enough petitions to qualify for the ballot.
With the help of 24 volunteers we picked up enough signatures Saturday to qualify for the ballot. There are 2,837 voters in Senate District 16 who have signed on the dotted line to help me get on the ballot and now have a vested interest in our campaign. Thanks to all who signed petitions and to the many volunteers who helped us obtain them!
