State Sen. Jack Latvala, facing minimal opposition, continues his solid fundraising effort by posting $1,950 from June 21 to July 4, according to filings with the Florida Division of Elections.

The Clearwater Republican has now banked $437,185 in his re-election bid for the Senate District 20 seat, which covers much of north Pinellas County.

At the same time, Latvala spent $11,010, for a total of $158,117 in expenditures, leaving him with $279,068 cash on hand.

Latvala’s Republican opponent, Pinellas County businessperson Zahid Roy, posted no contributions in the two-week period. With a loan of $2,500 and expenditures of $1,989, Roy has $511 on hand.

The other candidate in the SD 20 race had (slightly) better luck. Libertarian candidate Tony Caso raised $50 in the reporting period for a total of $5,130 and has $1,519 on hand.
