Janet Long’s new opponent is a wingnut

in The Bay and the 'Burg by
Janet Long was blessed last week with a second Republican opponent to her re-election effort in Florida House District 51.

I write “blessed” because, by all apparent indications, this opponent, Dawn Thompson, is a downright wingnut. Just take a look at some of the highlights from Mrs. Thompson’s Facebook page:

Her interests: “…States Rights; limited government, as was intended; Constitutional Rights, endowed by our Creator (not by Uncle Sam): LIFE (wow, babies should be allowed to live?…what a novel idea), LIBERTY (freedom w/o oppressive gov’t intervention), & PROPERTY (which includes no gov’t confiscation via socialistic taxation); know History, NO Socialism!”

Her favorite TV show: “FOX News; mostly all else is just not palatable.”

Her favorite book: ” ‘The ABC’s of Evolutionism’ – exposing the lies of what’s being called ‘science'”

And, of course, her favorite page: Sarah Palin.

Representative Long, you couldn’t ask for anyone better to run against.
