Pinellas County Republicans will come out May 12 to support Commissioner John Morroni in a major fundraiser for his re-election effort to the Pinellas County Commission.
Morroni was first elected to the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners in 2000; this will be his fourth term on the BOCC.
The event begins Thursday, May 12 beginning 5:30 p.m. at the Island Way Grill in Clearwater Beach.
Morroni is a former state representative who, for the first time in several years, is facing genuine opposition in the form of Seminole business owner and Tea Party activist Thomas Rask.
Rask is perhaps best known for suing the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority in February over its $300,000 contract with public relations firm Tucker Hall for work on the Greenlight Pinellas campaign.
Hosting the reception is Island Way owner Frank Chivas. According to the email invite, the event is coming at a “critical time” for Pinellas County.
The Island Way Grill is at 20 Island Way in Clearwater Beach. For more information, email [email protected].
