John Thrasher still downplaying LG chatter

in Uncategorized by

Another day, another downplay by Senator John Thrasher about the possibility of him filling the vacant Lieutenant Governor’s job.

When asked on Wednesday by Jacksonville’s Financial News & Daily Record how he would respond if Gov. Rick Scott offered him the job, Thrasher said, “I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Two weeks ago Thrasher told me, in response to a trial balloon floated in a column by the Tampa Bay Times‘ Steve Bousquet and Adam Smith about him being the frontrunner to be named Scott’s new LG, “I have not spoken to the governor or any of his staff about any of this, I believe this is just a media rumor.”

In other words, Thrasher is about to be named LG, right?
