Early results show Kathleen Peters in a commanding lead for the vacant seat in State House District 69.

The South Pasadena mayor had 52 percent of the mail ballots, which may account for about half the total votes cast.

She was followed by attorney David Phillips (36 percent) and I.T consultant Jim Dobyns (12 percent), according to votepinnelas.com.

Earlier today, Peters said she would attend an election party tonight at Middle Grounds Grill on Treasure Island.

Peters, who entered the race with a bevy of high-profile endorsements, has been confident about her chances for weeks.

“I feel real good,” she said this afternoon. “I feel good.”
