Ralph Glatfelter, a senior vice president of the Florida Hospital Association and longtime industry official in Tallahassee, died this week of cancer. He was 65.

One of this blog’s regular readers emailed some kind words about Mr. Glatfelter. I think its appropriate to pass them along.

“Ralph Glatfelter was a ‘great human being,’ ” writes this reader. “As one who was sometimes on his side and sometimes on the opposite side, I can say that he was ‘always a gentleman’ and it was always a pleasure to simply be around him whether in agreement or disagreement on the issue of the moment.”

Glatfelter, a Zellwood native and graduate of the University of Florida, is survived by his wife, Sharon (Sukie) McAllister Glatfelter.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bradfordville First Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
