Mayor Bill Foster at Tiger Bay today

in Uncategorized by

Stepping into the Tiger’s Den today is Mayor Bill Foster.

His first term has been successful and interesting:  He recruited the city’s first season of international baseball at Al Lang Stadium, bringing in teams from Korea, Canada and the Netherlands.  Mayor Foster played a key role in opening a regional homeless facility, Pinellas Safe Harbor, operated by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.  After a failed-first start, St. Petersburg continues its curbside recycling efforts with Waste Pro.

Tigers may want to ask about Mayor Foster’s platform characterized by the “Seven S’s,” which he defines as Seamlessness, Safety, Sustainability, Service, Small business, Schools, and Sports, Arts & Culture” and how this squares with his negotiations with the Rays.

Oh, and about that Lens, hmmm?
