Kendrick Meek’s fellow Florida Dems return Charles Rangel $$$

in Statewide by
The National Republican Senatorial Committee says House Democrats — including Florida’s Ron Klein and Suzanne Kosmas — have returned $378,000 of embattled Congressman Charles Rangel’s campaign contributions.

But “despite this outpouring from his Democratic colleagues, for some reason Kendrick Meek continues to hang onto the $5,500 from his ethically-challenged contributor,” the committee shot today.

A spokesman for Meek said the $5,000 the Miami Democrat got from Rangel’s political action committee was for his 2008 congressional campaign and he has no plans to return the money. His Democratic primary rival, Maurice Ferre, has also been prodding Meek to return the cash.

Klein gave $9,000 to charity and Kosmas gave $14,000 to charity, according to the National Journal. Full story here.
