Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced a new advertising campaign starting Monday that will feature Florida produce and seafood in recipes that are quick, easy and nutritious.
A multimedia marketing campaign will include television commercials, digital spots, outdoor billboards and grocery cart advertising to promote the state’s “Fresh from Florida” brand.
“Florida is blessed to produce some of the best fruits, vegetables and seafood in the world,” Putnam said in a statement. “This advertising campaign shows that there are so many ways to cook quick and easy meals for your friends or family that feature ‘Fresh from Florida’ ingredients.”
As will feature four recipes:
- Vegetable Pasta
- Steak Bowl
- Shrimp and Beef Tacos
- Sweet Corn Ricotta Fritters, Grilled Corn on the Cob, and Sweet Corn Sauté.
The dishes include such popular fresh Florida foods as avocados, squash, tomatoes, sweet corn, grouper, mushrooms, watermelon, shrimp, bell peppers, blueberries, beef, strawberries, clams and citrus.
Putnam cited research that found consumers prefer to use easy recipes when preparing healthy meals for themselves and their families. Justin Timineri, Florida’s state chef and Culinary Ambassador, have developed these meals particularly with that in mind.
The resulting commercials, available in both English and Spanish, will show viewers that fresh, healthy meal can still be served during busy weeknights and tight schedules.
Ads are scheduled to air statewide on all major network and cable television stations in each of Florida’s ten media markets: Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Gainesville and Panama City. The campaign is set to appear on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Rachael Ray, Jeopardy, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, The Good Wife, NCIS, Scandal, The Voice and the Academy Awards, as well as on The Food Network, HGTV, Lifetime, OWN and the Travel Channel.
