Progressive American Bridge PAC wants voters to understand Gov. Rick Scott’s “real record” on immigration, with a new video reviewing the governor’s anti-immigration past.
As the Florida Senate agreed to revisit the in-state tuition for undocumented students— known as DREAMers – during the final days of the legislative session, American Bridge Florida asks voters to remember a few of the things Scott ran on in his campaign.
At issue is Scott’s campaign promise in 2010 to bring an Arizona-style anti-immigration law to Florida, as well as his 2013 veto of a bill allowing access to temporary driver’s licenses for the children of undocumented immigrants.
They see the governor’s embrace of the in-state tuition issue as an election year pandering trick, adding that Scott is the “wrong choice for Latino Floridians.”
