Charlie Crist said Tuesday that he’s not plotting to unseat Republican Gov. Rick Scott.
“Do you think you might run against [Scott] next time?” MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews asked Crist.
“I don’t,” he replied. “I’m enjoying the private sector very much.”
Seriously people, what did you expect Charlie to say?
“Yes, Chris, I want to put a big fat target on my back right now by letting the whole world know I plan on challenging Rick Scott. I want to start campaigning right now for an election more than two years away.”
If Crist decides to run — and his running is still a big if — Charlie is going to wait until the last possible moment.
After all, why should Crist be in a rush? It’s not like Rick Scott’s poll numbers are improving.
