One Democratic consultant expresses their disgust with the Ed Jany debacle

As Nancy Smith of Sunshine State News wrote today, Democratic congressional candidate Ed Jany is a “dead man walking” after the Tampa Bay Times  revealed how Jany inflated his education credentials.

The failure by national, state, and local Democrats to not better vet Jany is not sitting well with at least one prominent Democratic consultant who (who will remain anonymous) emailed me today:

“This whole Ed Jany thing makes me nuts…before the FDP endorsed him didn’t ANYONE check ‘the Google?’

“Basic op-research 101 just isn’t that hard these days. I mean ‘Madison University’ comes up with the phrase ‘non-accredited distance learning’ and ‘Mississippi considers Madison an unapproved’ as the third hit on Google — you don’t even have to click on the link.
“A 2-minute call to Minnesota…
“This could have taken (seriously) ten minutes to raise an eyebrow.
“This is MY fucking party … argh.”
