“I have decided to retire after 28 years of public service in Pasco County. It has been my honor to represent Pasco on the County Commission,” said Commissioner Ann Hildebrand. “I have always been impressed with Kathryn’s dedication to public service and her commitment to Pasco County is second to none.” Commissioner Hillenbrand also stated, “Kathryn is a long time resident of this county and understands what is needed for business owners to expand and create jobs.”
“I am honored and humbled by the support and confidence Commissioner Hildebrand has in me,” said Starkey. “I will continue the legacy she has built of being a true public servant and will be an advocate for the residents of District Three.”
Kathryn was a member of the Pasco County School Board, she was elected in 2004, re-elected in 2008, and served as Chairwoman in her third year. She has been appointed to various positions five times by three Republican Governors, Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Charlie Crist, and Governor Rick Scott.
