Florida Department of Health’s (DOH) State Surgeon General Dr. John Armstrong announced the appointment of Jennifer Tschetter, J.D. as General Counsel, effective immediately. Ms. Tschetter will provide the State Surgeon General, Deputy Secretaries and Senior Management with advice on legal issues that have an impact on the administration of the Department. She will oversee and direct the activities of a team of over 90 attorneys located in 15 offices throughout Florida.
“We are pleased to have Jennifer serve as General Counsel in the Department,” said Dr. Armstrong. “Her expertise and leadership within the Florida Department of Health are well recognized and will inform our insights as we move DOH forward.”
Ms. Tschetter brings with her 11 years of experience practicing law. She has most recently served as Interim General Counsel for DOH. Ms. Tschetter worked as Chief Legal Counsel at the Department for three years and has been with the State of Florida for the past six years. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the State Bar of South Dakota and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Tschetter has a B.S. in Political Science from South Dakota State University and a J.D. with Sterling Honors from the University of South Dakota School of Law.
