Pinellas County Commissioner Ken Welch has gathered the 1,513 signed petitions required to qualify for the ballot. Commissioner Welch’s campaign announced this first victory of his re-election campaign on Friday, April 13, when the Supervisor of Elections office verified the submitted petitions.
Since Welch announced his re-election campaign in January 2012, dozens of volunteers have joined the campaign’s efforts to knock on doors, attend community events, and reach out to Pinellas residents to collect the required signatures for appearing on the ballot.
Ken Welch is proud to have completed this first step so quickly: “It’s important that Pinellas county residents have a voice in this process, and I’m honored that so many residents of this county have shown their support for my re-election campaign. I’m proud to serve my hometown and am looking forward to the next few months of this campaign.”
