Pinellas Republicans have a full schedule of fundraisers this week

Now that the qualifying period for candidate of state and local elections has ended, and races have official candidates, the campaign season is now beginning in earnest.

The Pinellas County Republican Party hits the ground running by releasing a schedule of local GOP candidate events for the upcoming week:

  • Monday June 23:

Ed Hooper for County Commission Fundraiser

State Rep. Ed Hooper is holding a Western-themed fundraiser beginning 5:30 p.m. at the Angry Pepper Taphouse, 9366 Oakhurst Rd. in Seminole. Casual Western attire is recommended. More information is available on the event Facebook page.

  • Tuesday June 24:

Ken Peluso Fundraiser

Chiropractor and longtime Republican education activist Ken Peluso, who seeks the Pinellas County School Board Seat for District 4, is holding a fundraiser beginning 5:30 p.m. at Posistano’s Ristorante Italiano, 3309 Tampa Road in Palm Harbor. Maureen Ahern for School Board Fundraiser

Former Tampa Bay Times writer Maureen Ahern, wife of state Rep. Larry Ahern, is running for the Pinellas County School Board. John Morroni for County Commissioner Fundraiser

Former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker, entrepreneur Bill Edwards, U.S. Rep. David Jolly and state Sen. Jeff Brandes, among others, will attend a fundraiser hosted by Pinellas County Commissioner John Morroni to support his re-election effort. The event will begin 5:30 p.m. at the offices of The Edwards Group, 150 Second Ave. North, Suite 1600 in St. Petersburg.
