More details have been released in the case of conservative blogger Javier Manjarres, who was arrested Saturday evening by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
The 43-year-old publisher of the Shark Tank is being held on one count of attempted murder with a firearm and burglary conveyance with battery for leaving his sister’s boyfriend, Jason Holowinski, with a broken nose and bullet holes in his pickup truck.
The incident began earlier Saturday with an argument Manjarres’ sister and Holowinski, who went to pick up Manjarres’ sister at a Boca Raton shopping plaza, opening the passenger door for her.
It was just before 7 p.m., Manjarres stepped into Holowinski’s truck and allegedly hit him in the face with his fist “four to five times.” Holowinski said Manjarres reached for something in his waistband, leading him to attempt to drive away. While backing up, Holowinski struck Manjarres’ car.
As he left, Holowinski reported hearing several gunshots. He then drove to his brother’s house in North Lauderdale, where Holowinski was taken to University Hospital in Tamarac by ambulance with facial injuries and a broken nose. Police arrested Manjarres at around 9:30 p.m. after going to his Pompano Beach home and discovering the damaged car.
