The Tampa Bay Rays are going to need a few more digits on their foam fingers.
Like, um, 18 more.
According to Bleacher Report‘s power rankings, the Rays are the 19th-best team in baseball. The Rays, like always, are built around their pitching, which is fourth in the AL with a 3.37 ERA and a 1.074 WHIP and .221 opponent’s batting average.
The Rays, who play under manager Kevin Cash, have been struggling to hit, however, with a .224 average.
The Yankees are ranked 24th in the majors, but the other three American League East teams are ahead of the Rays. The Blue Jays are 16th, the Orioles 10th and the Red Sox eighth.
