State Rep. Reggie Fullwood, joined by family and supporters, will host a “Vote with Reggie” rally on Saturday to open early voting in the special election for House District 13.

Fullwood’s event will be from 12-1 p.m. at the Johnnie Walker Community Center, 2500 W 20th St. in Jacksonville. In attendance will be the local firefighter’s union to provide food and drinks to early voters for the Dec. 16 Special Election.

Fullwood had been running unopposed this year for District 13 but missed the June 20 qualifying deadline due to errors by two notaries public. The first notary had made an error on Form 6, the financial disclosure form. The second, hired by the Florida Democratic Party to rewrite the form, failed to check the required boxes.

Early voting begins Saturday and continues through Sunday, Dec. 14.

In the event invite, Fullwood encourages “every eligible voter in District 13 to make their voices heard,” by highlighting the opportunity to cast ballots early and at the voter’s convenience.

Fullwood faces Jacksonville City Council member Johnny Gaffney in the Democratic primary. The winner faces Republican Lawrence Jefferson.
