***Updated – 3:38 p.m.*** Spoke with Councilman Jeff Danner who confirms my earlier account that he was told by City Attorney John Wolfe that the Times is seeking to drop the lawsuit so long as the City does not seek compensation for legal expenses.

Hearing, just hearing, that the Times Publishing Co. has dropped the lawsuit it filed against the City of St. Petersburg.
Just got off the phone with one member of City Council (other than Jeff Danner) who confirms that the Times has offered to drop the lawsuit if the City will agree not to pursue legal fees.
