Republican Peter Nehr endorsed by Pinellas’ teachers

Republican state Rep. Peter Nehr has scored a major endorsement coup in his re-election campaign for House District 48, earning the endorsements of the Florida Education Association and the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association.  The endorsement letter is clear why the teachers are backing Nehr over Democrat Tom McKone, who now has to wonder where he can find support for his campaign:

This endorsement is in recognition of your steadfastness in opposing Senate Bill 6, which failed to consider the views and to enlist the support of teachers in its attempts to make ill-conceived top-down changes to our school system.  You placed the interests of teachers and students above politics and that is appreciated by teachers in Pinellas County.
