Richard DeNapoli is not wasting any time in his campaign in Sarasota.

Immediately after announcing his candidacy for Florida House District 74, the attorney and former Broward County GOP chair picked up two key Republican endorsements. Sarasota State Rep. Ray Pilon and Broward State Rep. George Moraitis today both announced their support of DeNapoli.

“To start this campaign with the support of Reps. Ray Pilon and George Moraitis is truly an honor,” DeNapoli said in a statement. “Both are thoughtful leaders who do what’s right for their constituents and I look forward to their help and thank them for the early show of confidence in this campaign.”

“Richard DeNapoli’s experience in retirement security, financial planning, and Florida law make him well suited to protect Florida’s seniors and their issues in Tallahassee,” Pilon said.

“He’s and intelligent, common-sense conservative who won’t back down from his principles,” added Moraitis. “Richard DeNapoli is a true conservative whom Sarasota residents can count on to keep Florida on the road to economic prosperity.”

When it comes to conservatives, Moraitis and Pilon knows what they are saying. In March 2013, the American Conservative Union rated Pilon 82 percent, and Moraitis 100 percent.

DeNapoli will face fellow Republican Joe Gonzales in the 2014 primary for the seat that covers most of Sarasota County.
