Rick Perry to address CPAC

The big Conservative Political Action Conference-Florida set for Orlando Sept. 23 has added another major Republican presidential candidate to its lineup with confirmation this afternoon that Texas Gov. Rick Perry will address the gathering.

The American Conservative Union, organizers of the rally, announced that Perry, who just entered the race two weeks ago and immediately became one of the front runners, will be there.

Perry joins fellow front-runners Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney on the agenda, along with other GOP hopefuls including Orlando-based Jon Huntsman, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Gary Johnson, Herman Cain, and Thaddeus McCotter.

In fact, the only announced candidate not yet confirmed as a speaker is Ron Paul, the congressman from Texas who finished a close second behind Bachmann, the congresswoman from Minnesota, in the Iowa Straw Poll earlier this month. Paul has been invited to speak, as has Sarah Palin, who is an announced “maybe” GOP candidate.
