The Tampa Bay Rowdies won their first game of the preseason Saturday night as they came from behind and beat USF, 3-1, in the late stages of their exhibition game at Corbett Stadium.
Tommy Heinemann came off the bench and a had a goal and two assists to lead the Rowdies’ victory. Tampa Bay had begun its preseason 0-2-1, playing Montreal to a 0-0 tie and losing 1-0 to D.C. United and 2-0 to Philadelphia. USF scored on a shot by Nazeem Bartman.
Freddie Adu and Darnell King also scored for the the Rowdies,who went 333 minutes before scoring their first goal.
The Rowdies now travel to England for three games, then have one more preseason game against the University of Tampa.
