Senate candidate Judithanne McLauchlan’s misguided line of attack over solar power bill

Democrat Judithanne McLauchlan, running in state Senate District 22, recently commented that the blocking of a proposed tax break for solar power is “another example of what is wrong in Tallahassee.”

McLauchlan may very well be correct that this is an example of what’s wrong with Tallahassee, but her attack is misguided.

Why? Because the sponsor of the Senate bill being blocked is her opponent, state Senator Jeff Brandes.

If Brandes, a powerful Republican committee chairman, cannot move this solar power bill, what makes McLauchlan — who would be a backbencher in the minority party — think her election would change things?
