Senate Leadership deal done: Gardiner, then Latvala

in Uncategorized by

Moments after the Florida Senate passed its budget on a vote of 33 to 6, word is spreading that a deal has officially been struck between Sens. Andy Gardiner and Latvala.  Gardiner will serve first as Senate President, followed by Latvala. This, according to a Senator close to the negotiations and a supporter of both Gardiner and Latvala.

At 3:46 p.m., this senior Senate source texted, “Stand by….this might be “breaking.” Followed by this message, “Gardner and Latvala have landed the bird on the deal. Gardner then Latvala (after Gaetz).”

From all involved, Don Gaetz will still be Senate President in 2013-2014. So it’s Gardiner in 15-16, then Latvala   in 17-18.

And in case there is any doubt about the veracity of this story, remember where news about Richard Corcoran locking up Speaker’s race broke.
