Republican former state Rep. Shawn Harrison finishes his fundraising campaign about $71K ahead of incumbent Democrat Rep. Mark Danish in the House District 63 race, one of Hillsborough County’s hardest fought races.
Between Oct. 18-30, Harrison added $22,500, with nearly $33,850 in-kind support from the Republican Party of Florida. His final fundraising total stands at $239,581.
In all, Harrison spent a total of $205,500 on his campaign, ending up with more than $34,000 in the bank.
Elected to the House in 2010, Harrison served only a single term. He lost to Danish in 2012.
During the same reporting period, Danish outperformed his GOP opponent in fundraising, adding $25,460 and another $14,153 in-kind support, mostly from the Florida Democratic Party.
However, Danish finished the campaign with only $168,967 in overall contributions.
Danish’s campaign cost him $154,280, finishing the race with $14,687 on hand.
HD 63 covers most of north Hillsborough County.
