Here’s another shocker for the night: Republican incumbent Shawn Harrison has lost to Democrat challenger Mark Danish in House District 63.

Danish received 50.45% of the vote, to Harrison’s 49.55%.

The Florida Democratic Party today released the following statement congratulating Democrat Mark Danish on his election victory in House District 63.

“We congratulate Mark Danish on his victory,” said Florida Democratic Party chair Rod Smith. “Mark ran a strong, grassroots campaign focused on strengthening and protecting the middle class, and voters delivered him a victory.”

“Tonight, the people of central Florida sent a strong message to Governor Rick Scott and the Republicans in Tallahassee. Floridians are ready to put an end to the GOP’s failed policies that have moved our state in the wrong direction in favor of a fresh approach aimed at strengthening middle class families and ending the corruption and waste in government.”
