South Florida to get transfer quarterback from UCLA

in Sports/Top Headlines by

Florida has become a second-chance destination for college quarterbacks.

Already, FSU had landed former Notre Dame star Everett Golson. Florida had added John O’Grady from Vandy to its quarterback mix. Miami had added former Kansas State passer Jake Heaps, who threw for 1,400 yards, to its roster.

Now, it is the turn of the South Florida Bulls, who will welcome Asantii Woulard from UCLA.

Woulard, who is from Winter Park, will sit out a year and then have two remaining.

Woulard had been in the competition to replace former UCLA starter Brent Hundley. UCLA had signed him after he was the MVP of the Elite 11 camp as a high school senior.

Woulard, who is 6-3 and 210, never played for the Bruins.
