The Tampa Bay Lightning is playing as if it never plans to lose again.
The Lightning beat the Florida Panthers Sunday night, 3-1, to momentarily climb to third in the NHL East Standings. Nikita Kucherov scored twice, the opening goal and an empty-netter, to lead the Lightning in scoring. Andrej Sustr also scored for the Lightning.
Tampa Bay, which has spent most of the season trying to climb the standings, are now 24-17-4.
For the Lightning, goaltender Ben Bishop stopped 26 of 27 shots for the victory.
Tampa Bay is home against Edmonton on Tuesday night.
