Larry Williams finally takes down billboard!

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

What a successful day it’s been! I cold turkeyed the Bay Buzz, the city published the campaign finance reports online and, driving home, I noticed that Larry Williams finally took down that horrible billboard he has had up since his 2001 campaign.

Boycotting the Bay Buzz

in Peter/The Bay and the 'Burg by

After much consideration and soul-searching, I am going to boycott the Bay Buzz blog on The St. Petersbug Times website. That’s right, I am going cold turkey on The Bay Buzz blog. The guy who can make an article go from 2 comments to 45 is commenting no more. And not for the reasons you might think. I am not giving up on the Bay Buzz because of the articles that are written (or not written, as the case may…

Jamie Bennett: Mayor needs to speak up on BayWalk

As Alannis Morisette once asked, Isn’t it ironic? The Bay Buzz is in a tizzy because someone has designed an anonymous blog attacking Deveron Gibbons: Who’s behind mysterious Deveron Gibbons site? — An anonymous blogger has begun an anti-Deveron Gibbons for mayor campaign on the Web. What’s Wrong with Deveron? links to newspaper stories and campaign material referencing Gibbons from 2004 to present. The author goes by the name Keepin’ It Real. Bay Buzz had our Web staff do some…

Jim Sebesta is NOT in the Mayor’s race

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

There was a mention on the Times’ Bay Buzz blog that former Senator Jim Sebesta had picked up the candidacy paperwork to run for Mayor of St. Pete. I was just on the phone with the city clerk’s office and they state that he has not, repeat has not, picked up the candidacy paperwork. For the record, the residents that have done so are: Deveron Gibbons, Paul Congemy, Sharon Russ and Michael Santo.
