The Florida Democratic Party has hired a rapid response director to focus on the Republicans in this year’s U.S. Senate race. Lauren Cross, who formerly worked for Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C., and for the Obama campaign in Colorado in 2012, was hired several weeks ago, said Max Steele, a spokesman for the party.
