From  the Gradebook: resident Greg Hunsinger has filed to run for the Pinellas County School Board against incumbent Peggy O’Shea. Hunsinger’s bid in the at-large District 3 race means all three incumbents up for re-election – O’Shea, Mary Brown and Linda Lerner – are facing challengers. A fourth seat is up for grabs because incumbent Nina Hayden is running for state senate.

Pinellas teachers to stand with Charlie Crist during Thursday announcement

From the Gradebook: Expect to see teachers alongside Gov. Charlie Crist when he appears at St. Petersburg’s Straub Park Thursday at 5 p.m. The longtime Republican is expected to announce his intent to run for U.S. Senate as an independent. Robin Haines, assistant to the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association president, said at least 15 local teachers will be on stage with the governor. And countless others will participate from the audience.
