Minions and fire dances to highlight this year’s Howl-O-Fest at Boyd Hill

Halloween is all about trick-or-treating for most kids. But this year families can enjoy the fun the weekend before too. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is hosting its annual Howl-O-Fest October 23 and 24 from 6-10 p.m. each night. The festivities include games, crafts, airbrush tattoos, a “Minions Trail” (you know, those little yellow dudes from Despicable Me,) festive trick or treat cabins, fire dance and “Viking Tale of Terror” live shows. Halloween spending to be up in Florida, down nationally

The Florida Retail Federation (FRF), the state’s premier trade association representing retailers for over 75 years, announced today that the average person celebrating Halloween this year will spend $74.34, compared with $77.52 last year. Is Kathleen Ford’s new TV spot some sort of Halloween spoof?

When I first saw Kathleen Ford at a podium in front of a green-screened American flag, I thought this had to be a Halloween spoof. Evidently, this commercial really was put out by her campaign. Not as bad as that fake commercial for Joe Smith, but this ad certainly is the worst television commercial produced by one of the mayoral campaigns. And I don’t think anyone EVER wants Kathleen Ford imagining anything for them!
