On Friday, the South Florida Regional Transit Authority will consider awarding a deal to run the state’s largest public commuter railroad, Tri-Rail — worth up to $511 million — after tossing all competing bids, including some asking far less money. Times article online about injunction being dropped against Deveron Gibbons

Not much news in the Times story about the restraining order being lifted against Deveron Gibbons.  I mean, nothing that I hadn’t already written about here.  Gibbons’ girlfriend, Rita Wesley, who I know to be a strong, charming woman, says: “It’s a personal, private matter,” Wesley said. “It has been resolved and I’m satisfied with the result.” Poor Rita.  Ask any domestic abuse counselor and they’ll tell you the first restraining order filed is often not the last.

Late-night update: Injunction against Deveron Gibbons withdrawn by girlfriend

Word coming out of the Pinellas Courthouse is that Deveron Gibbons’ girlfriend Rita Wesley has successfully petitioned to have the temporary restraining order against Gibbons withdrawn. Wesley’s actions now leave a lot of questions unanswered, such as did Deveron really try to run her over..is she still pregnant…why did she decide to have the restraining order lifted? As much as Deveron will suggest otherwise, the damage to his reputation is already done.  This incident certainly didn’t bolster his already fledgling…
