Champagne for breakfast? The Michelin guide for 2010 has awarded Daniel Boulud’s Restaurant Daniel a third star. Daniel, the French restaurant on the Upper East Side serving dishes such as black sea bass with Syrah sauce and foie gras-stuffed Scottish grouse, today becomes the fifth establishment in New York to win three Michelin stars. James Beard Awards announced

Jean Georges, the flagship of the chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, won the James Beard Foundation’s outstanding restaurant award Monday night and Drew Nieporent, a partner in Nobu and Corton in TriBeCa, was named outstanding restaurateur. Dan Barber of Blue Hill in Greenwich Village and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Westchester County won the outstanding chef award.
