A Florida hospital has named its CEO after a nationwide search. The Tampa Bay Times reports Tampa General Hospital announced on Monday that John D. Couris will be its new leader in September. The 49-year-old has been president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center since 2010. Couris succeeds Jim Burkhart, who resigned in November after being pushed out by Tampa General Hospital’s board of directors. Jim Burkhart, president and CEO of Tampa General Hospital, has been elected chairman of the Florida Hospital Association‘s board of trustees. The selection took place Thursday at the association’s annual meeting in Orlando.
