Jimmie Johnson passed Brad Keselowski with 5 laps remaining and went on to win the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Keselowski led for 312 of the race’s 334 laps, but Johnson had the best car at the end and pulled out the victory. Jeff Gordon won the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville (Virginia) Speedway, edging Jamie McMurray be two car lengths. Gordon’s victory was the 93rd of his career and makes him the first of four drivers to qualify for the championship race at Homestead, Fla. on November 22.
