A local homebuilder is suing former Major League Baseball All-Star Gary Sheffield and his wife, Deleon, for outstanding payments owed on home renovations. According to a lawsuit filed April 9, the Sheffields contracted with LYH Custom Building and Remodeling for improvements and additions to their home located at 932 Anchorage Road in Tampa. A bartender who was stabbed repeatedly by a patron she refused to serve is now suing the bar where she worked at the time. Rebecca Schaefer was stabbed multiple times by James Klingbeil with a filet knife. Clearwater Beach’s Sandpearl Resort is the defendant in a lawsuit alleging wage theft. Three current or former employees who worked as in-room servers at the resort filed a suit on behalf of themselves and a group of unnamed others claiming the resort forced them to work about five hours per week of unpaid overtime.
