It might not have been one of the premier bowl games of the season, but the St. Petersburg Bowl delivered on drama Monday afternoon. Nelson Adams blocked a 37-yard field goal attempt by Miami of Ohio’s Nick Dowd, preserving a 17-16 victory by Mississippi State. SEC to ‘substantially’ increase fines for rushing fields

The Southeastern Conference has been fining its schools for rushing fields and storming courts since 2004. Now, a decade later, those penalties are going up. Way up. The league plans to “substantially” increase fines for teams that violate its on-field policy.
