Four candidates running for two seats on Seminole City Council

Seminole City Council members Roger Edelman and Bob Matthews are facing challengers in their 2017 re-election campaigns. Edelman’s and Matthew’s seats on the seven-member council are the only ones set for the ballot this year. Since the city uses open seats, rather than districts, the two candidates with the most votes in the Nov. 7 election will sit on the Council.

Thom Barnhorn leads in fundraising in Seminole City Council race

Incumbent Thom Barnhorn is the clear winner when it comes to raising funds to run for re-election to the Seminole City Council. Barnhorn has raised $6,255, according to the latest filings with the Seminole city clerk’s office. Jim Quinn, the other incumbent in the race, has raised $3,250. Tom Christy trails far behind with $237. A bit more than half Barnhorn’s funds — $3,500 — come from his own pockets. But he’s also received donations from former Seminole council member…
