Political PR pro Sarah Bascom of Bascom Communications has officially launched the search for communications director and press secretary for the Republican Party of Florida, continuing in her capacity as interim communications director. The post below just hit online via Bascom Communications’ Facebook page and Bascom’s personal page but my phone is already ringing with people interested and asking advice on how to land the gig. Applicants should understand that this job will be a high-profile position, with a national spotlight…

in Statewide/Top Headlines by

Republican Party of Florida Chairman — and state Rep.- – Blaise Ingoglia held a meeting Friday evening in which he divested himself of his fundraising duties and transferred them to party Vice Chairman Joe Gruters and Republican State Committeeman Peter Feaman for the duration of the 2015 legislative session. Jim Greer asks for suit against RPOF to be put on hold

in Statewide by

Former Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer on Friday asked a Sanford judge to put a temporary hold on his lawsuit against the party and its new chairman while he battles criminal charges. The ad was re-posted with the language removed, said RPOF spokeswoman Katie Gordon Betta, but the party lost nearly 100 bids on the painting, one of them for $6,200. By late Wednesday, bidding…

Jim Greer: Endorsement of Charlie Crist led to ‘character assassination’

in Statewide by

Reading over the six-page lawsuit filed by Jim Greer yesterday, it says that RPOF leaders, including John Thrasher, reneged on a deal that would have paid Greer a severance package of $11,250-a-month for 11 months, plus health insurance (Republicans sure are insistent about getting their own health care taken care of!), to resign his post earlier this year. He also wants damages from the party and from Thrasher (who doesn’t?) More important, the lawsuit also includes Greer’s explanation for why party…
