Former Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer on Friday asked a Sanford judge to put a temporary hold on his lawsuit against the party and its new chairman while he battles criminal charges. Greer was arrested at his Oviedo home last week on theft, fraud and corruption charges. A statewide grand jury handed up an indictment, accusing him stealing $125,000 from the Republican Party of Florida. From Gary Fineout: The head of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said on Tuesday that the proposed severance agreement that Jim Greer reached with Republican Party of Florida officials this year was not “pertinent” to the investigation that resulted in Greer’s arrest. But Gerald Bailey, the FDLE commissioner, said that “things are known now that were not known when that severance agreement was executed.
